"MOTOROLA SLVR L6 CELL PHONE IS THINNER THAN MOTOROLA RAZR PHONE" Motorola Slvr L6 Cell Phone Is Thinner Than Motorola Razr Phone Nokia fans feast your eyes on Motorola's first "candy bar" style cell phone that is razor-thin weighing just 9 grams which is lighter than the Motorola Razr phone. The name of the Motorola phone is the "Slvr", pronounced "sliver". This cell phone is also referred to as the L6 or L7, and was actually code named "Royal Blade" because it has a sharp razor look and feel without the flip-up cover. A quick side by side comparison shows that the Motorola "Slvr" is slightly longer and wider than a closed Razr phone.

It would be pretty easy to forget about this cell phone in your pocket. It was designed specifically for Nokia customers who prefer a razor-thin Cingular phone but have an aversion to the flip style phones. One of the features that makes this cell phone stand apart from the Motorola Razr phones is that it has a built-in MP3 player to play your favorite songs plus a removable TransFlash memory card so you can store your favorite music files. Oddly, it lacks a headphone jack, which is strange because it has an MP3 player. You could even use the USB port for headphones.

Some industry experts speculated that "Slver" would be released with a Motorola Bluetooth headset and they were correct. When it comes to both talk time and standby time, this cell phone offers more than the Motorola Razr phone. It is a quad band GSM phone that includes Bluetooth Class 2, Push-to-Talk (PTT), VGA camera, SCREEN3 and a MP3 player.

To say that the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic was eagerly anticipated is an understatement. Leaked images of the first Nokia touchscreen phone known in development as the ‘Tube,’ (possibly in reference to the long and narrow screen) did the rounds and were lapped up by the online media, whilst a cameo in the Oscar-nominated Dark Knight movie and Britney’s comeback video got the masses into a lather. Finally the 5800 XpressMusic in within the hands of mortals as well as fictional billionaire businessmen, but is it as good in the flesh? Well, it’s not an iPhone.

Let’s get that out of the way, pronto . Both have touchscreens, both are impressively specced, and both handle multimedia nicely. However, the familiar red, green and white buttons at the base of the handset remind you that this is a Nokia, and pressing these (or sliding the lock button on the right side) brings the screen into life reaffirms the fact. Design-wise, this is an immediate and immaculate Nokia. The sturdy shape, the curved edges, the fingerprint imagery on the back, everything about the 5800 XpressMusic screams quality, but without the opulent touches of an N-series device like the Nokia N96. Equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, an nHD 640 x 360 display, a second camera for video calls, built-in GPS and 8GB of memory as standard (upgradable to 16GB), you are certainly getting a lot of bang for your buck with the 5800.

Despite running on shiny Symbian S60 5th edition touchscreen software, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic feels like business as usual, with their standard 4 x 3 icon layout behind a strangely sparse home screen. It is definitely an evolution rather than a revolution, as the Nokia interface is easy to navigate if you’ve ever been exposed to any handset from the Finnish manufacturer in the last few years.
